Gallery of rare books
A number of the works in Emory's yellowback collection are very rare. Some are one of only several known copies, and others are the only known extant copies of a particular work or edition.
These books are just one of several known extant copies in the world.
Here is a sample of the rarest books in the collection. Emory holds the only extant copy of Dr. Weld, The Tale of the Horse, and Lady Lorme. Its copy of Woman against Woman is the only known copy of its edition.
Other books in the collection are the only known copy in North America. For example, the only other extant copies of Sir Harry and the Widows and Jacob Bendixen are in Australia. Likewsie, only two other copies of Faint Heart Never Won Fair Lady exist, one each in Wales and Ireland.
